A Decision to Start
It’s never too late to start following the desires of your heart. It will always seem as if it is late until you actually start doing it. I’m starting this blog at the age of 43 and it makes me feel happy. I created this account some years ago and posted a few blogs but I was not committed to the work of writing consistently. I deleted my old account today so that I can start from scratch.
I have not given much thought to “who” I am writing for, but I hope “they” find their way to this blog space. I am not sure what change I am seeking to make but I am sure that I want to write down some of the thoughts that emerge in my mind every day. I want to use this space as a practice for my writing career. I want to explore the various ideas that have been developed through my life experiences.
I’m not a novice in writing on social media. I have built quite a loyal following on Facebook over the years with my personal development and spiritual writings. My decision to initiate a blog on Medium is inspired by the many unexplored and unexpressed ideas that haunt me every day. The set of ideas I am referring to are my personal philosophical assumptions and convictions about issues such as the nature of human nature, the nature of reality, mindset, politics, science, religion, sociology, and many other dimensions of human life.
I am not sure if I want to be politically correct or if I should express my deepest thoughts about some volatile topics such as race, religion, and politics. Every decision we make is a choice that finds its roots either in fear or in courage. Should we cross the line or stay within the boundaries of socially accepted topics of discourse.
I hope this blog makes sense. I was trying to establish the context of my decision to start publishing my thoughts on this platform. Subsequently, I will be sharing more about my personal journey to bring more light into who I am and how I got to be doing what I do. I have always been in love with ideas and I have many to share.
